Welcome Baby James!

Introducing the newest member of our family: James Orval Daniels

It was fun waiting to find out the gender until baby decided to make his appearance. All throughout the labor we all (nurses and doc) were speculating what the gender would be. Everyone came to the conclusion it was a little boy based on the trouble he was giving us. But he came out healthy and beautiful! Just a few pushes and this sweet little boy was out (thank heavens!).

Our newest family picture! I'm so grateful for our friends, the Allens, for watching our kids for us while we were at the hospital and then bringing the kids to come see their new brother (and take pictures!). I'm so grateful for the Gospel and the church that teaches us how and allows us opportunities to serve.

Brian brought the kids for a visit and they all loved climbing up on the bed and watching Curious George (after they each had a turn holding James, of course).

My little Michael meeting James for the first time. He was so excited it was a boy!

While Lillian didn't really want me when she first came to see us at the hospital, as soon as baby James came in, all she wanted was the baby (forget Mom!). She loved holding him!

Adam was hoping for a girl, but he is thrilled to have James in our family. It is so sweet to see him hold James and love him and ask all sorts of questions about him. Before James was born Adam asked what the baby would see in the birth canal, how well can he see, what's it like inside, etc. We got out my child development text book and looked at pictures and had a few good talks to try and answer his many many questions.

A good size healthy baby boy...we're so grateful!

Once the shock of being outside Mommy subsided, James was content to look around and take in his surroundings. He has some dark hair (darker than the other kids) and dark eyes. They may just go brown.

Just a little explanation on James' middle name. Orval is the name of my great-grandfather (my dad's paternal grandfather). Orval holds a very special place in our family. We have lots of great stories about Orval. He serves as the patriarch of our family and even though he passed away long ago, he still watches over and protects our family. We felt that James should have the namesake of such a wonderful man. And James, well James is just awesome! James the apostle is a wonderful example for all of us and hopefully for our sweet new baby.

We miss you all and pray that you and your families are well. We are so grateful for eternal families and grateful that little James is a part of ours. We're glad you are each part of our family too!

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS post!!
you are so adorable and I love your family! ha ha when I updated my mom on the newest addition she said "Sara doesn't that make you feel like something is missing in your life?" If only she realized I think about it ALL the time :) I'm grateful to have you as such an example!
