Down on the Farm

While Grandpa Daniels was here we went to visit our friends. They had told us to come by and see the baby goats that were just a week old. Adam got to see the fish in the pond, chase the chickens, and then hold a baby goat. Here are some pictures of Adam having fun.

Adam did hold the little goat, but this was the best picture. It was fun to see the goats jumping off the tires and butting each other off the tires.

The fishing pond...Adam enjoyed seeing the coy.

Stay tuned for pictures from...The Garden Chronicles. It's a good one.

Happy Little Boy

Our little Michael is becoming an expert at smiling and laughing. He is such a blessing to our family. Adam loves little Michael and mommy has to watch him closely because he likes to pick him up and "play" with him (which sometimes involves poking eyes, spoons in the eye, and trying to give him a drink with a big cup...). Here's Michael giving a little laugh.

Our Boys Are Growing Up!

I can't believe how fast our boys are growing! Michael loves to lie on his little play gym in front of the window. His eyes are so blue, I love it!
A cute shot of Michael smiling at Daddy...
I got this shirt for Adam at Target because I thought it was cute and it will be great for him to wear when we go camping this summer.
It appears that Michael is pondering the great questions of the universe...what can I say, he's a Daniels.
And....ta da!! He's smiling! I love it when he smiles! A few weeks ago I even got him to giggle and laugh for me with some tickling. He's such a sweet boy. Adam is adjusting, slowly. So is Mom.

On a side note, this weekend was Day of Service. Brian and I spent the day at a local park cleaning, beautifying and working until we couldn't work anymore. Adam loves playing at the playground. Brian headed up the project with Mary (head of "Friends of Warriors"). I spent most of the day shoveling rubber mulch and stinky, hot, manure mulch. I tease Brian that he made a great supervisor...but he really did a LOT of work. I think he did a GREAT job! Well done sweetheart! It was a great opportunity to show our children how to work...or at least to set an example. We had a good time. Now I feel like we've earned the privilege to play at the park. :)

Easter...a little late

Adjusting to having two boys...sorry Easter pics are a little late. Needless to say, Adam had a blast! He loved the Easter egg hunts. Yes, plural, since he had so much fun we did it a few times. It wasn't until later in the house that he discovered there was candy inside. It's amazing what a 2-yr old will do for a single jelly bean...like take a nap. :)

We bought an Easter lily and enjoyed the blooms for several weeks. I had forgotten how good they smell. We also wanted to share a picture to show that it isn't just apricot trees that make popcorn. "I looked out the window and what did I see? Popcorn popping on the Bradford Pear tree!!" Adam sings that song all the time he loves it so much.

Here is Adam searching through all of the Easter eggs to find the candy.
We all enjoyed watching General Conference. Adam especially enjoyed watching the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and sat quietly, enchanted by the lovely music. Then he would wave his arm, conducting the choir from Tennessee.
Here's Adam finding one of many Easter eggs we hid in the yard. We purposefully did not mow the lawn so it would be a little better for hiding the eggs...Brian was thrilled!

I Found the Beach!!!

In my KITCHEN. Yes, my kitchen. Today, the weather has been really nice. Adam asked if he could play in his sandbox, so I said, "Sure. But the sand stays IN the sandbox. We don't put it in the play house or on the deck. The sand stays IN the sandbox." So I finished the dishes while watching him play in the sandbox, with a few reminders the keep the sand where it belongs.

Enter Michael: Michael wakes and says "Mom, I'm starving!" So I poke my head out the door and tell Adam I need to feed Michael. "You can stay out here and play, but keep the sand in the box. Love you." Did you notice I told him to keep the sand IN the box? Adam comes running in about five minutes later needing help with his shoes. We fix that problem. A minute later I heard a bird chirping rather loudly and figured he left the door open: not a big deal, it's nice outside. A minute later, he comes in with a cup of sand. I tell him "no sand in the house!!! Put it back in the box." I get up to make sure he does it. What do I find? THIS:
And that's only part of it. I didn't take a picture of the other piles...I was a little upset. I didn't take a picture of the deck either...but it was all over. Even in the playhouse.

Now I think we need a happier note: Adam discovered he can do this with his shirt...

My boys are silly. Brian laid Michael down the other night and this is what he saw:
"I'm ready! Throw that ball!"

The other day as we finished lunch, I told Adam it was nap time. He said, "sleep, bean bag." I told him we sleep in our bed. After putting him in bed and singing to him, I walk out and close the door. I could hear him playing with toys for a while, but didn't want to fight it. Later, I go into check on him and this is what I found:
