In my KITCHEN. Yes, my kitchen. Today, the weather has been really nice. Adam asked if he could play in his sandbox, so I said, "Sure. But the sand stays IN the sandbox. We don't put it in the play house or on the deck. The sand stays IN the sandbox." So I finished the dishes while watching him play in the sandbox, with a few reminders the keep the sand where it belongs.
Enter Michael: Michael wakes and says "Mom, I'm starving!" So I poke my head out the door and tell Adam I need to feed Michael. "You can stay out here and play, but keep the sand in the box. Love you." Did you notice I told him to keep the sand IN the box? Adam comes running in about five minutes later needing help with his shoes. We fix that problem. A minute later I heard a bird chirping rather loudly and figured he left the door open: not a big deal, it's nice outside. A minute later, he comes in with a cup of sand. I tell him "no sand in the house!!! Put it back in the box." I get up to make sure he does it. What do I find? THIS:
And that's only part of it. I didn't take a picture of the other piles...I was a little upset. I didn't take a picture of the deck either...but it was all over. Even in the playhouse.
Now I think we need a happier note: Adam discovered he can do this with his shirt...
The other day as we finished lunch, I told Adam it was nap time. He said, "sleep, bean bag." I told him we sleep in our bed. After putting him in bed and singing to him, I walk out and close the door. I could hear him playing with toys for a while, but didn't want to fight it. Later, I go into check on him and this is what I found:

That is a WONDERFUL picture of Michael asleep. I think I'd do a framed black-and-white of it to display in my house if I were you. Love all the pictures you posted - sorry about the sand. :)
I suppose my name should get taken in vain whenever the sand gets all over everything. Sorry about that, but I am glad Adam is having fun with it. We sure loved being with you to bless that wonderful new baby.
Kathy, your boys are adorable! Ohh, I love the little, tiny baby toes and hands. Sooo cute! I am so happy for you. You look great! I can't wait to see you in a couple weeks!!!
