TempleZoo

Yes, that's what it says, "TempleZoo." That's the word that described our trip a week ago. We went to the temple and the zoo. Boy was it fun! I made it to the last session at the temple Friday night. Brian took the boys and had dinner and checked in at the hotel. When I finished my session, Brian was there with the boys in their PJs waiting for Mommy. Too cute!

Brian went to the 7am session while I stayed with the kids Saturday morning. While we were eating breakfast at the hotel, the fire alarm went off (and nobody moved, they all just kept eating). Super cool morning for Adam---the fire truck came!! We got to see it up close and see the firefighters and they even honked the horn for him--it was great!! (Sorry, the camera was in the hotel room).

Then we headed to the zoo. Wahoo!! It was a perfect day, brilliant zoo weather. Even better, the zoo had a botanical garden section. It was like having Thanksgiving Point (on a much smaller scale) combined with Hogle Zoo (also a smaller scale). The kids enjoyed it! They especially loved the aquarium. Here are some pictures to tell the story:

Enjoying some peaceful moments when Adam actually slept.

That's a big tortoise.

Adam loved climbing on all the animal statues. This just reminds me of Aslan.

The boys with the lion cub.

The botanical gardens had a great place for a family picture.
(On a side note, every time I try to say "botanical garden" it comes out, "biological garden." Ha.)

Halloween at the Zoo--too bad we couldn't stay for the night time events.

The goats were a little over-friendly. You'd think they would get sick of being fed all day, but apparently not, these goats were huge!

Michael's favorite part was the aquarium (sorry about the reflection).

That was one HUGE fish!! And a cool ray too...

What a good weekend. You are wonderful to make such a sacrifice to attend the temple.
